Hi. Today I am posting a little script I made that will copy Pro Tools automation to the Dolby atmos plugin. The requirements for this are:
- Make sure the Source Track is in Waveform view and the Object track is on the Master Bypass Lane of the Atmos Plugin
- Enter the source track number (copy from) followed by a comma and then the destination track number (copy to). You have to enable View -> Track Number to see the track number for this.
There are 2 modes called Mono and Stereo. Basically Mono will copy automation from a mono track to a mono object and stereo does the respective for a stereo track. Hope you find it useful.

Hello, Thank you so much for sharing your insights and tools!!
When I try the PT pan to Atmos converter I am not seeing any automation transferred after the script runs. Is it dependent on which plug in slot the Atmos panner is on?
I generally have it on insert slot e.
Thanks again,
It isnt dependent on that. You need to have the master bypass lane shown on the automation track of the one that contains the atmos plugin.
Hi! I find this script so useful! Congrats!
I’m trying to use it but the scripts doesn’t works correctly. When I write the numbers of source track and destination track (for example “1,2”) and go ahead, the process stops and Pro Tools says something like “There is no track Number 21”. It seems like the Script has a code failure and doesn’t read correctly the comma.
Maybe the scrips doesn’t work with newest Pro Tools versions (I’m working with PT12.7).
Do you know if there is any update of this script or a newer version compatible with PT12.7?
Thanks so much for your help!
Hi. This seems to be an issue with Sierra or El Cap. I haven’t had time to go through this but will try and check if i can fix it. Thanks for the comment!
Thanks!
Yeah, It could be the OS version. We are working with Sierra so….
It would be great to discover how to solve it because this Script improve a lot the Atmosphere workflow.
Thanks again for your work!
Thanks so much for this script. It helps out greatly as I’ve been doing a lot of Atmos upmixing lately…
Wow….a lot of thought has gone into this. Much appreciated. But with the new version of Protools 12 now having an atmos panner plugin, is this script still useful?
Not really. This was made much before that feature came up. 😊
