Hi. Today I wanted to share a video tutorial that covers the concepts of how loudness is calculated, how the Momentary, Short Term, Integrated and True Peak is measured, LKFS, LUFS, how LEQ(m) works in film mixing, and some more concepts. A lot of the information here is actually spread across multiple technical papers on the web and there are a lot of tutorials about how to mix for that spec, very little information is available on visually showing how this is measured. And as Audio Engineers, I think its useful for us to know how this happens. Especially also understanding the relationship between Loudness and SPL. Hope you find it useful! If you liked it, please share it and subscribe to the channel as well. 🙂

Thank you very much for this. I really enjoyed your lecture! I use most of it in practice daily, but the way how you put it in context and simplified the explanation is golden. Love the way how you end it, with basically what it comes down to is that you hit that ball park and trust your ears and feeling. Meters are there to help you, not to dictate how to mix. Thanks for your amazing work. I hope you are well in these weird times..
Thank you!! Glad you find it useful!
